Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1: Djibouti

Arrive in Djibouti; meet assist and transfer to Hotel Meal(s) Included: None Overnight at Sheraton Djibouti

Day 2: Djibouti

After breakfast, depart for a 3-hour city tour and visit; The 27th June square ( former Menelik square) Mosque Hamoudi Mahamoud Harbi square( called also Rimbaud square) Central market Rue des Mouche(African market) Visit the Central Market Meal(s) Included: Breakfast Overnight at Sheraton Djibouti

Day 3: Lac Abbe

After breakfast, drive to Lac Abbe, a salt lake fringed with incredible scenery, where limestone chimneys belch sulfur. This landscape is so otherworldly that the classic science fiction film "Planet of the Apes" was filmed here. En route, you will visit Grand Barra, the remains of an ancient lake that offers good opportunities for spotting wildlife. Meal(s) Included: Breakfast, Dinner Overnight at Tented Camp

Day 4: Foret du Day National Park

After breakfast, spend the morning exploring Lac Abbe. In the afternoon, drive to Forêt du Day national park, a remarkable forest in an otherwise desert country – with monkeys, warthogs, leopards, and various other animals. Meal(s) Included: Breakfast, Dinner Overnight at Tented Camp

Day 5: Foret du Day – Tadjourah

After breakfast, go on guided nature walks in the forest before departing for Tadjourah. Tadjourah, a picturesque town on the coast, has a distinctive Arabic feel, from the architecture to the people. There is time to explore the town this afternoon. Day 6: Bankoualeh - Lac Assal

After breakfast, visit the stunning oasis of Bankoualeh with its various waterfalls and gardens. Afterward, visit the Afar village of Ardo, before continuing to Lac Assal – a crater lake and the lowest point in Africa (-150 m) as well as the most saline body of water in the world (up to 40%). It is undoubtedly one of the most spectacular natural phenomena on the continent. Meal(s) Included: Breakfast, Dinner Overnight at Tented Camp

Day 7: Lac Assal – Djibouti Town - Depart

Explore the volcanic region around Lac Assal, including the Ardoukoba volcano and the hot springs. In the afternoon drive back to Djibouti Town where there will be time to explore. Afterward, transfer to the airport for an onward flight. Meal(s) Included: Breakfast
