Day by Day Itinerary

DAY 1: ARRIVE – DOUALA, CAMEROON

Arrive in Douala, meet and greet, and airport assistance before transferring to your hotel. Tour orientation. Meal(s) Included: Dinner Hotel: La Falaise Bonapriso

Day 2: DOUALA – LIMBE

Set off for a city tour of Douala after breakfast from your hotel in the Bonapriso neighborhood, through the Bonanjo administrative district, the Pagode of King Bell, the Akwa business district, the central market, the residential neighbourhoods of Bonamoussadi, Kotto, and Makepe. Continue through Bonaberi and cross over the Mungo bridge to the seaside town of Limbe. Visit the Downbeach fish market, city tour, and transfer to a hotel for overnight. Day 3: LIMBE – BUEA

After breakfast, take off for a visit to the Bimbia slave trade relic site. This served as an exit point for slaves leaving Cameroon and other surrounding islands to the Americas. Visit over then drive up from sea level to the town of Buea on the slopes of Mount Cameroon. Buea being a typically colonial town during the German era, you begin with a tour of the city to admire old German structures, before heading to Bonalyonga, the seat of the Paramount ruler of the Bakweri tribe. If the King is present, then you pay him a courtesy visit but if not, we may make a stop with some indigenes before transfer to hotel for overnight. DAY 4: BUEA – BANDJOUN – BAFOUSSAM

Today’s trip takes you to the western highlands of Cameroon, reputed for its fertile soils and hardworking people. You descend altitude from Buea through the Mbo plains to arrive in Bandjoun mid-afternoon, visit the King’s palace and museum, then continue the drive to Bafoussam, the regional capital for overnight. Meal(s) Included: Breakfast and Dinner Hotel: Hotel Zingana

DAY 5: BAFOUSSAM – FOUMBAN – DSCHANG – BANGOU

Travel to Foumban, the seat of the Bamoun Kingdom and dynasty, for a tour of the area. Your tour will include a visit to the Palace of the Sultan, as well as the museum for traditional culture and crafts. Other activities include a visit to the city mosque, and the artisan market where one can buy crafts from master woodcarvers, basket weavers, and embroiders. Your visit to the palace shall also be punctuated by animation from the palace musicians. Depart Foumban for Dschang to visit the “Musee de civilization”, which recounts the entire history and evolution of present-day Cameroon. Drive to Bangou overnight. DAY 6: BANGOU – YAOUNDE

Spend some time at the resort after breakfast with activities like the botanical garden walk, you depart for Yaoundé to arrive in the afternoon hours, time to drive to the national museum for a visit before transferring to the hotel. Overnight in Yaoundé Meal(s) Included: Breakfast and Dinner Hotel: La Falaise Bonapriso

DAY 7: YAOUNDE – INTERNATIONAL DEPARTURE

Activities on this day will be organized as per your departure time. If it’s AM, then early check out and city tour before transfer to the airport. If PM then afternoon check out, city tour, and farewell dinner before transfer to airport for formalities and departure. Meal(s) Included: Breakfast
